This is a large parrot with long tail feathers and mainly blue and yellow in color. The forehead is green; the upper part of the body a brilliant blue; the sides of the neck and body is golden yellow. These macaws also have black around chin and cheeks, and the naked skin of cheeks is pinkish-white with lines of very small, isolated black feathers. The blue and gold macaw has a strongly hooked beak and zygodactylous feet (2 toes that point forward and 2 toes that point backward).http://google.com

I brought home a Blue and gold early this year and the staff were sure I got off to a good start with her, going over caging, diet, behavior, etc. She’s turned out to be a great companion, silly and sweet. And when I ordered some more food for her recently, they threw in some extras and a nice note. Unfortunately it was during sort of a crazy time, so I didn’t get a chance to thank them until now. But it was greatly appreciated!

Best Exotic Bird Store I’ve ever been too near my area big selection on birds, accessories for a reasonable price. But also depending on the mutation or type of bird you wish to acquire expect to pay $$!! I was very impressed definitely going back again!! All the birds look healthy and very well taken care of more then I’ve seen at other places they all seem very well handled and loved they’re not to scared or frightened but more timid when you approach which is expected. On my search for a male macawl I came across Birdparadiseavaiary. I cannot express how grateful I am that I did. They’re extremely competent in what they do, Alexis answered my myriad of questions completely, in detail, and as quick as she could. Her and the other staff are so friendly and helpful, I felt welcomed and cared about. I ended up with a gorgeous baby boy who, while surprisingly shy, is as healthy as can be and adjusting well to his new home. The pricing of their birds might be a bit high but to me it’s worth it for all of the love and care put into them. One of my favorite things about their store is that they offer fruits and vegetables to the weaning babies. My macaw loves veggies, especially kale. No need to teach them to eat healthy, they already do!
Birds Paradise Aviary also makes a seed blend that I personally think is better than any name brand out there. The medium blend contains very little millet so my baby won’t hog out on it and develop health issues. It also includes dried vegetables so, along with the fresh ones, he’s eating veggies frequently. The seed is expensive but I think it’s highly worth it for the health of your bird. Mix in a few pellets that contain omega-3 and your bird will most likely have the healthiest diet possible.

I recently bought a Blue and gold macaw with the help of Alexis. If you talk to any of the people at Birdparadiseavaiary the first thing you will notice is that they are very serious about loving birds. Not only was Alexis extremely knowledgeable but she was super friendly and helpful. I live almost six hours away and Alexis was willing to come in on her day off to help me pick up my new bird buddy and get me all set up. I’m pretty sure she spent close to two hours telling me everything I needed to know about jendays and answering the questions I had. Their store is incredible but the staff is what truly makes them great. Thanks to them I was able to drive the six hours home feeling confident that I could take care of my bird even though I was nowhere near her or her vet. This was easily the best experience I’ve ever had when it comes to buying a pet. If this was regular retail I would be a weekly customer now. I, myself, am a manager at a pet store and from that point of view I can tell anyone looking for a bird that Birdparadiseavaiary is worth the drive. On top of all that you can tell that they really know how to raise birds. All of the different birds they had at the store seemed very well behaved. The ones I met were all amazing. My bird is only a few months old and he is amazing. He’s already extremely sweet, doesn’t have any of those bad bird behaviors, and has clearly been properly cared for. It’s clear that if I keep up with his care correctly that he’ll be perfect his whole life. I love these guys and gals.
